DESCRIPTION:Join the National Council of Nonprofits to learn how to access ARPA funds allocated for Missouri & Kansas. \n\n\n\nThe American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 allocated $350 billion in funds to state\, local\, Tribal\, and territorial governments to provide assistance at each government's discretion - to charitable nonprofits\, households\, and small businesses. Nonprofits and governments are natural partners in addressing community challenges and there are funds remaining to assist nonprofits or hire them as providers of services.\n\n\n\nJoin from David Thompson\, Vice President of Public Policy\, and Jessica Mendieta\, Policy Associate\, at the National Council of Nonprofits for a webinar to learn more about the available funds in Missouri and Kansas\, how to access them\, and examples of successful programs.\nThis is a program of The Effective Nonprofit Series.\n\nSpeaker:\n\n\n\nDavid L. Thompson is Vice President of Public Policy for the National Council of Nonprofits\, the nation's largest network of nonprofit organizations. He practiced law for 17 years specializing in labor relations\, employment law\, government contracting\, and subsequently directed federal and state advocacy for a government relations firm. He was honored as one of the NonProfit Times Power & Influence Top 50 for 2019\, 2020\, 2021\, and 2022. David Thompson holds a bachelor's degree from Emory University and a law degree from the University of Georgia Law School.\n\n\n\n\n\nJessica Mendieta joined the National Council of Nonprofits in September 2021 and serves as a Policy Associate. In this role\, Jessica researches and develops educational content about policies that affect the nationwide network. Her experience in the nonprofit and government sectors\, as well has her background in data analysis & visualization\, led her to find opportunities to show trends\, indicators\, and policies that impact organizations and communities. Previously\, Jessica served at the Center for the Integration and Advancement of New Americans\, Federal City Council\, New York City Mayor's Office of Resiliency\, and the New York City Department of Education. Jessica holds a master's degree from the Heinz College of Information systems and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University\, and a bachelor's degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York.\n\nCancellation/Program Policies:\n\nNo refunds will be processed within 3 business days of the program date.
