SUMMARY:Motivations and Aspirations of the Wealthy Donor
DESCRIPTION:Tom Lawson with US Trust Philanthropic Solutions joins us to examine the giving and volunteering trends\, behaviors\, attitudes and priorities of wealthy American households. His presentation is based upon the newly-released 2018 U.S. Trust Study of High Net Worth Philanthropy. This research is a biennial national sampling of wealthy donors\, including analysis based on age\, gender\, sexual orientation and race. The expanded methodology enables further exploration of the philanthropic trends\, strategies and behaviors among the high net worth population. \n \n\nTom's observations will provide nonprofit professionals with valuable insights into giving preferences and motivations for major gift prospects. His straight-talk approach offers interesting perspectives on:\n\n\n	Wealthy donors' motivations\, values and personal fulfillment from charitable activity\n	The areas of giving that are perceived to create and provide the most impact\n	How high net worth donors make giving a family affair\n	The forecast for charitable giving from high net worth households \n	Wealthy donors' expectations of nonprofits and the degree to which these expectations are being met\n\n\n\nFull participation in this program is applicable for 1.5 points in Category 1.B  Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and/or recertification.\nPresenter:\n\n\n\n\nTom Lawson is the Senior Vice President\, Southeastern Senior Philanthropic Advisor at US Trust.
