DESCRIPTION:Our Fall/Spring Saturday STEM Seminars offer a fantastic and FREE chance to get introduced to the diverse world of STEM careers and professionals. Held about once a month\, this series aims to expose students and public alike to cutting-edge topics in science and showcase the career paths taken by an array of STEM experts - from aerospace engineers to forensic specialists. As an added incentive\, at the end of each semester\, the Kansas City area educator who sends the most students to our seminars (for some extra credit hopefully!) will be awarded a special prize. \n\n\n\nThe brain stands between the world and us. Within the brain are proteins\, which perform tasks necessary for brain function. We will explore how proteins help the brain recreate the world for us and encode memories of things we love and fear.
