This webinar will show participants how to incorporate scenario planning into their budget\, allowing organizational leadership to understand budget implications for various "what-ifs" and create plans of action. \n\n\n\nNonprofit Finance Fund (NFF) will help participants quantify the unknown\, develop budget scenarios for possible future crises and opportunities\, identify key drivers of change\, assess revenue and expense variability\, and prepare for both best and worst-case scenarios. \n\n\n\nThis webinar includes dedicated time for live Q&A with NFF consultants. Participants will receive NFF's scenario planning tool\, with instructions. \n\n\n\nThis is a program of the Effective Nonprofit Series. \n\nPresenters:\n\nLaShawn Taylor (she/her) has ten years of experience designing and managing programming in education\, workforce development\, and capacity building. In her role with NFF\, LaShawn partners with nonprofit leaders to develop financial and strategic initiatives that align with their mission and vision. Before joining NFF\, she served as the National Director of Workforce Programs with U.S.VETS leading strategy and partnership development to support employment services for veterans. Prior to working with veterans\, she worked with youth and young adults as a teacher and leader in college and career/technical education. \n\nCurrently\, LaShawn is pursuing her Doctor of Education degree in Organizational Leadership at Pepperdine University with a research focus on best practices in DEI training for law enforcement. She holds a master's degree in Social Entrepreneurship and Change from Pepperdine University and a bachelor's degree in American Studies and Ethnicity from USC. Outside of her work and studies she enjoys spending time with her daughter Parker\, their dog\, Axel\, and adding to her collection of house plants. \n\n\n\nSarah Shampnois (she/her) is a management professional with 20 years of experience in arts administration\, finance & budgeting\, community engagement\, strategic planning\, and fundraising & development. She is a co-Founder of Company One Theatre (C1) where she served as co-Executive Director/Managing Director from 1998 to 2019. C1 is a non-profit that uses the arts to create a more just\, equitable and inclusive community and is based in Boston\, MA. With C1\, she has developed artistic\, education\, and community programs centered on collaborations with community partners. Collaborators ranged from city agencies such as Boston's Office of Arts & Culture\, the Boston Public School (BPS) system and the Boston Public Library\, to large cultural institutions\, to nonprofits that work in fields from youth development to immigration to reproductive rights and more. These programs brought low-cost and free programming to thousands and helped C1 become a leader in serving younger\, more diverse audiences.\n\n\n\nSarah also used her deep interest in data to develop C1's audience feedback surveys\, program evaluation systems\, and comprehensive financial modelling. Additionally\, Sarah has worked for Clark University\, AmeriCorps\, New Jersey Community Water Watch (NJCWW)\, MassPIRG\, and the President's Council on Sustainable Development under President Clinton.
