DESCRIPTION:The latest Giving USA Report showed that bequests and other planned gifts are growing. This trend will continue as our country prepares for the largest generational wealth transfer. Does your organization understand the potential and logistics of cultivating and accepting planned gifts?\n\n\n\nJoin Kristin M. Shore\, Development Director\, Gift Planning at KU Endowment\, to learn the basics of bequests\, life income gifts\, and how to turn bequest dollars into increased lifetime giving. This session will help you improve your charitable gift planning and management skills regardless of your organization's size.\n\n\n\nParticipants in this session will learn:\n\n Different methods of planned giving and the benefits of planned gifts\n Sample bequest language for donors to include in their will or trust \n Key words or phrases to listen for to uncover donors who are good candidates for planned gifts\n\nPlus\, as an added bonus\, Kristin will share information on the Mid America Charitable Gift Planners\, an association and resource for those who are looking to further sharpen their gift planning skills. \n\n\n\nThis is a Fundraising Track program. \n\nSpeaker:\n\nKristin M. Shore - Development Director\, Gift Planning at KU Endowment - Kristin joined Kansas University Endowment Association in 2016. Prior to her role at KU Endowment\, Kristin spent nearly five years as a Financial Advisor with Edward Jones\, was series 7\, 66 and health and life insurance licensed. Prior to her work as an advisor\, Kristin worked for the Kansas Department of Health and Environment as a program consultant and managed users of the state's immunization registry.\n\nIn addition to working with donor and prospective donors on their charitable gift plans\, Kristin was the 2021 President of Mid America Charitable Gift Planners and is currently serving on the Board of Directors. Kristin received her bachelor's degree from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City\, KS with a degree in Health Information Management. Kristin is a native of NE Kansas and a 3rd generation Jayhawk. She and her husband have two teenagers\, one dog and an adorable kitten\, and live in Topeka\, KS.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFull participation in this training is pre-approved for 1.5 points in Category 1.B - Education of the CFRE International application for initial certification and or recertification.\n\nCancellation/Program Policies:\n\nNo refunds will be processed within 3 business days of the program date.
