Donor Advised Funds - Friend or Foe in Legacy Planning?
While Donor Advised Funds have been under scrutiny by fundraising professionals in recent years, DAFs may help your clients achieve their charitable goals and provide a meaningful long-term impact for charities – especially when paired with traditional planned giving tools. Through illustrations and real-life examples of legacy planning with DAFs, you will learn how local DAF providers partner with donors, their professional advisors and favorite charities to maximize the impact of their gifts. He has been the President and CEO of Truman Heartland Community Foundation since 2010. His nonprofit career includes serving as the Senior Vice President of Development for the American Lung Association of the Central States and 22 years at the United Way of Greater Kansas City. Shannon Sundberg holds a BS in Music from Southwest Baptist University, an MFA in Arts Administration from Southern Utah University and is a Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy CAP®. She has been the Director of Advancement at Truman Heartland Community Foundation since 2013. Her nonprofit career includes serving at the organizations of the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Kansas City Ballet, Utah Shakespearean Festival and Southern Utah University College of Visual and Performing Arts.
