Sharing Good News: Connecting Your Nonprofit to the Media
Your mission matters. One of the best ways to spread the word about your organization is to get media coverage. If you want to spread good news, celebrate success, or let more people know about your important cause, securing time with a top journalist will maximize your results.
Perhaps you've thought about pursuing news coverage, but you're stuck on these questions: How do you pitch your nonprofit story to journalists? Are news stations even interested in reporting in feel-good success stories? Who do I contact? What do I do if I get a "no"?
Fortunately, Cynthia Newsome, an award-winning journalist and anchor with KSHB, is here to guide you through the process of identifying and pitching your stories to the media. All marketing and communications professionals will benefit from this exceptional storyteller's ability to focus on the good and uplift through storytelling.
Participants will leave this session knowing:
- Why working with the media will benefit your mission
- How to create media-worthy stories
- Insider tips to getting your story shared
