SUMMARY:Connext Lunch & Learn: Generations in the Workplace
DESCRIPTION:Understanding\, leading\, and working with employees from different generations continues to be one of the most common challenges in the modern workplace. For the first time in history there are five generations in the workplace. Individuals from different generations think differently and make alternative choices from other generations because what they value is not the same. During this Connext Lunch & Learn we will dispel myths\, challenge assumptions\, and discuss strategies for thriving in a multi-generational workplace.\n\n \nPresenter\n\nTracy Blasdel\, Ph.D.\, is an assistant professor of marketing and business communication in the Helzberg School of Management at Rockhurst University. She has a passion for helping students make a successful transition from the classroom to career. Her signature classes include Managerial Communication\, Consumer Insights\, Integrated Marketing Communication\, and Dynamic Presentations. Prior to her career in academia\, Blasdel worked in corporate marketing and marketing agency settings for more than 10 years\, sharing her marketing expertise with the likes of major corporate brands including: Blue Bunny Ice Cream\, Minute Rice\, Weight Watchers\, H&R Block\, Dell\, Bayer CropScience and Cerner. Blasdel completed her Ph.D. in organizational communication at the University of Kansas. She also has a Bachelor of Journalism from the University of Missouri and a Master of Business Administration from Rockhurst University.\n\n \n\nCancellation/Program Policies:\nNo refunds will be processed after February 17. Please park in one of the two lots directly north and across 31st Street from the station\, leaving the main lot for KCPT staff and visitors with disabilities. Do not park in spaces marked AKC in the west side of the lot.
