DESCRIPTION:A trio of Park University fine art students will exhibit their work as part of their senior thesis\, Tuesday\, May 1\, through Thursday\, May 31\, in the University's Campanella Gallery. Admission to the gallery\, located within Norrington Center on the Parkville Campus\, is free. A reception for the artists will be held Friday\, May 11\, from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Gallery.\n\n \n\nStudents featured in the exhibit\, all seniors majoring in fine art\, are: Kealy Houlahan\, Kansas City\, Mo. (attended Platte County High School\, Platte City\, Mo.)\; Stevie Smith\, Kansas City\, Mo. (attended Smithville [Mo.] High School)\; and Yubo Zheng\, Wuhan\, China.\n\n \n\nAccording to Andrea Lee\, director of the Campanella Gallery and assistant professor of art\, Houlahan creates unique expressions in wood\, and by using natural features of various types of wood\, her bowls are both artistic and functional. Smith uses watercolor media in her series of portraits to express the connections between humans and nature\, especially animals. Zheng's paintings in oil and acrylic reflect his inspiration of French impressionist painters in still life and landscape compositions.\n\n \n\nThe Campanella Gallery will be open as follows during the exhibit:\n\n Tuesday\, May 1\, through Saturday\, May 12 regular building hours: Monday-Thursday\, 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.\; Friday\, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.\; Saturday\, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.\; Sunday\, 4 to 9:30 p.m.\n Sunday\, May 13\, through Thursday\, May 31 summer hours: Monday-Friday\, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.\; Saturday-Sunday\, closed\n The building will be closed Monday\, May 28\, for the Memorial Day holiday
