American Wolf Foundation: Seeking Directory and Advisory Board Members
Conservation-based non-profit established in 2018 seeks hands-on members to its Board of Directors and Advisory Board!
About Us: American Wolf Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit supporting endangered wolf conservation, awareness and coexistence. Founded in March 2018 in Kansas City, we are building our organizational structure. Our long-term goal is to establish an endowment fund to support canid conservation efforts nationwide. Our most urgent focus is the critically endangered American red wolf once native to Missouri and struggling in the wild. We need motivated, hands-on Board members!

Who We Are Seeking: We are seeking members for both our Board of Directors and our Advisory Board. The Directors manage the organization, whereas the Advisory Board provides insight on conservation and wolf science, law and policy. Our current Directors have experience in HR, finance and marketing, some general nonprofit experience, and include a local wolf expert. We are seeking additional Directors with experience in fundraising, education programming, volunteer and general nonprofit management. Ideal candidates will have connections to potential donors. We are seeking additional Advisory Board members with experience in wildlife science, education, law and policy, especially predator conflict avoidance.

Terms of Service: first term is 1 year, followed by 3 year terms

Meetings: The Board of Directors meets every 3rd Thursday morning, currently from 8:30-9:30 a.m. at the Anita B. Gorman Discovery Center. Advisory Board members have no meeting obligation but are encouraged to participate in meetings of the Board of Directors.

Board Member Contributions: Our bylaws do not currently require a minimum financial contribution from Board members, but they are encouraged!

Directors' and Officers' Liability Insurance: We do not currently have D&O insurance. Our bylaws provide a hold harmless provision, and we are investigating insurance options.
