Become a mentor for a resident at Shalom House!

Provide mentorship to men living in our Shalom House! Shalom House is a transitional living program at Sanctuary of Hope in Kansas City, Kansas. This program provides men experiencing homelessness with a safe and dignified place to eat a hot meal, shower, sleep, and engage in long term programming that aims to lead them out of poverty once and for all.

Shalom House Mentors will empower clients to problem solve, provide them with opportunities to practice job skills, and encourage positive social development. Mentors will monitor day-to-day interactions and participate in implementing services provided by Shalom House. Volunteer mentors must also maintain confidentiality and be prepared to complete relevant documentation, such as incident reports.

Mentors are asked to work 1 shift per week with a 4-month commitment. Shifts are 7:00-3:30, 3:00-11:30, and 11:00-7:30.
