We Need a Volunteer Coordinator

Offer Valid: 06/22/2022 - 09/12/2022
City In Motion Needs You!
City in Motion Dance Theater is seeking an enthusiastic volunteer to head up recruitment and volunteer coordination for the 23rd annual Dance in the Park Performance. We are looking for someone who has a passion for the arts and is excited to get out into the community to recruit and build the volunteer base for City in Motion here in Kansas City.

Dance in the park is a free-to-the-public performance that showcases the unique dance styles of our community here in Kansas City, Missouri. We have various volunteer positions within our organization for this event as well as others throughout the year. We are seeking volunteers who are passionate about the arts and want to spend their time continuing to elevate Kansas City's Dance and Theater community. It is sure to be a fantastic showcase of Kansas City's incredible dance talent!

This is also where we showcase the amazing spirit of Kansas City's Neighborhood Associations.  Last year we gathered over 1,400 people at this free outdoor event and raised over $3,000 for dance outreach!

City in Motion Dance Theater was founded in 1985 and has been a constant presence in the Kansas City dance community. We are the longest-running contemporary dance company in Kansas City, and many of our founders are still part of the Kansas City dance community today. We are a non-profit, so none of what we do would be possible without the support of our sponsors, donors, board members, and volunteers. Our company produces three key concerts a year: A Modern Night at the Folly, the annual company spring concert, and Dance in the Park. You can also see the company at other dance events throughout the year.

We believe that dance is for everyBODY, and this belief influences everything we do. City in Motion is more than a dance school we are more than a performance series. City in Motion is more than a professional dance company we are a community.
