Volunteer Opportunity

Offer Valid: 09/13/2018 - 07/01/2020
A life-saving volunteer opportunity with flexible hours

Looking for a volunteer opportunity that makes a life-saving difference and offers flexible hours? As a Community Blood Center Flex-Schedule Volunteer Driver, you will periodically deliver blood to hospitals with urgent supply needs in areas outside of the KC Metro. Ideal for volunteers looking for a flexible volunteer schedule and who have good driving records and enjoy being on the road for several hours.

CBC provides the vehicles/fuel and schedules are flexible --- we will only call you on the weekdays/times you tell us you are generally available. Most deliveries take 2-to-5 hours, round-trip. We ask that you try to help at least one time per month for a minimum of six months. Deliveries generally take place Mon-Fri sometime between 7:00am - 7:00pm. (NOTE: We also have regular weekend driving shifts for volunteers only available on weekends and willing to commit to a regular shift.)

We provide the training, vehicle, fuel, candy bars and fun -- you bring the good driving skills, time and dedication. Families, couples and friends are welcome to work as teams of 2. Join us today!

To become a Flex-Schedule Driver for Life, you would need to be at least 21 years of age, able to lift 35 lbs.. You must complete an application, participate in an interview, background/MVR check and attend training and a ride-along. State law requires Missouri residents get/have a Class E license or higher (if you need to get a Class E we reimburse the cost after 6 months of service). Kansas law only requires a standard drivers license.
