Pricing Structure
Nonprofit and Business members can post volunteer opportunities and board positions for free.

Individual members and nonmembers can submit their opportunities for $25 per week.

Literacy Mentor, Reading the Phonics Way

Offer Valid: 03/15/2023 - 04/27/2023
1:1 support for new readers

Program runs March 21 - April 27, 5:30-6:45pm

Duties:

  • Work 1:1 with a student 1-3 times a week (Tues, Wed and/or Thurs)
  • Facilitate individualized phonics tutoring and lesson plans
  • All training will be provided
Programming will take place at Front Porch Alliance offices: 3210 Michigan STE Kansas City MO 64109

About the Program: Reading the Phonics Way extends our beloved Partners Active in Learning (PALs) program beyond Faxon Elementary to the readers across the Eastside of Kansas City. Reading the Phonics Way is a structured literacy program designed to help beginning readers master the foundational phonetic skills that are fundamental to reading. Students develop phonological awareness, phonemic awareness, letter-sound knowledge, and sight word recognition.
