Scholar Smarts Educational and Employment Systems
At Scholar Smarts, we are driven by our mission to *Enrich, Employ, and Empower* youth who are historically underrepresented and facing systemic challenges. We aim to uplift these young individuals by providing educational support and equipping them with the skills they need to become confident, engaged, and successful members of their communities.
Through our programs, we provide solutions that help youth overcome socio-economic barriers, focusing on tutoring, enrichment workshops, workforce and soft skills development, and college preparation.

We’re seeking enthusiastic volunteers to make a real impact. While classroom experience is a plus, it’s not a requirement. If you have a nurturing spirit, empathy, and are comfortable working with culturally diverse, high-energy high school students, we would love to have you on board! Scholar Smarts provides a structured curriculum and outline, so all you need is a tech-savvy mindset, proficiency with Google Software, and a professional yet engaging demeanor.
**About Our Programs**
Located in the heart of Kansas City, Missouri, and Kansas City, Kansas, we serve youth through after-school and summer programs. Scholar Smarts offers one-on-one and small group tutoring, mentorship, enriching workshops, and Real-World Learning activities to help students excel academically, socially, and professionally.
- **Volunteer Schedule**: Hours vary, with most activities scheduled after school or on three consecutive Sundays from 2:00 - 4:30 pm. May average 5-6 hours per week per workshop. Locations include MCTC, Penn Valley, UMKC, and community centers, with specific assignments shared in advance.
- **Commitment Period**: We are looking for volunteers to support us from now through December 18, 2024, with final volunteer confirmations by the end of December.
- **Onboarding**: Join us for a Zoom kickoff session where we’ll cover the onboarding process, our programs, and what to expect as a volunteer. DATE TBD
