Accounting and Payroll Specialist

Due to growth in the organization, the position of Accounting and Payroll Specialist is open.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Maintains accounting department files and records.
  • Enters and reconciles revenue information into accounting system daily.
  • Verifies and prepares checks for mailing.
  • Researches invoices and donations with issues for resolution; interfaces with vendors, data entry team, and other appropriate staff to reconcile.
  • Assists with month-end close and runs monthly reports as required.
  • Prepares and balances deposits on bank statements.
  • Ensures invoices, checks, timesheets, and other records are prepared timely and reviews for accuracy.
  • Logs, posts, and balances petty cash.
  • Enters payroll and 403B payments for processing
  • Assists with preparation of 1099s as needed.
  • Assists with special accounting projects as needed.
  • Ensure compliance and adhere to company policies relating to processing of wages and paid time off
  • Provides service to all employees regarding concerns with payroll and benefits, research and troubleshoot inquires.
  • Lists and maintains all PKD open position postings
  • Screens applicants for position qualifications and forward to hiring manager for review.
  • Schedules all interviews of applicants
  • Schedules onboarding of new hires
  • Enters all new hire information into payroll system and maintains personnel files.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
  • Maintains confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
•    4-year degree preferred.  Equivalent experience in payroll and bookkeeping duties may be considered.
•    Accurately keystroke a minimum of 40 wpm.
•    10-key by touch.
•    Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts.
