Administrative Assistant, Development & Marketing

Successfully promote and support the mission of Catholic Charities of Northeast Kansas as guided by the Catholic Social Teachings, by playing a key role in assisting the development and marketing objectives of the agency’s key fundraising initiatives. Play a vital role in executing, creating marketing materials and serving as lead photographer for the agency’s major fundraising events including Snowball, the Golf Tournament and the Gathering.  This position will aid in the design of marketing materials used in fundraising campaigns including direct mail campaigns and fundraising brochures. The role requires experience in both graphic design and photography, with the ability to remain organized and motivated while balancing multiple projects at once. This role requires an individual with a flexible schedule and the ability to work some evenings and weekends during event season (May & August – January). The Development & Marketing Administrative Assistant will be expected to work 20-hours a week with the potential to work more than 20-hours a week during event season.   • Serve as the lead support to the marketing and event departments in the creation of graphic design collateral required for special events & campaigns including; The Golf Tournament, Grace & Gratitude, The Gathering, Snowball and direct mail appeals.
  • Lead the creation of all graphic design collateral required for the agency’s Call to Share campaign, the Parish Christmas initiative, Parish Party invitations and general funding brochures. 
  • Serve as lead photographer for all special events including; The Golf Tournament, Grace & Gratitude, The Gathering, Parish Parties and Snow Ball.
  • Serve as lead photographer for all events related to the agency’s Snowball Gala including; Kick-Off, Patron and Table Social, Parish Parties, St. Martin of Tours, Snow Ball Serve Days and Snow Ball.
  • Assist the Event Coordinator in administrative tasks related to the agency’s three perennial marquee events: the Golf Tournament, the Gathering and Snow Ball, including; organizing committee binders, calling supporters, committee members and event attendees to confirm participation, track event RSVPs, send invitations and print all event materials.
  • Support the Senior Director of Marketing in graphic design assignments for specific projects required of the agency.
  • Support the Director of Development in stewarding & recogninzing donors through the donor birthday acknowledgement program, M25 campaign touch points, donor agency updates, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Must complete VIRTUS training, background screening, drug testing, and any ongoing training as required
  • Experince in graphic design and photography.
  • Effective communication skills:  written, verbal, non-verbal, presentation, and consensus-building.  Ability to listen and take direction.
  • Bachelor’s degree prefereed.
  • Event and/or fundraising experince prefereed.
  • Bilingual Spanish Speaker preferred.
  • Self-starter and ability to work well independently and with diverse individuals and groups.
  • High motivation for success coupled with diplomacy, tact, excellent organizational, project management, and customer relations skills.  Ability to set priorities and meet deadlines while working under pressure.
  • Proficient computer skills including Canva, Adobe Suite products, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Strong analytical and pro-solving skills.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer, standing, bending and moving
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Must have the physical ability to make visits to a variety of locations and environments across the 21-county footprint 
  • Must have physical ability to effectively communicate with others
  • Must have the physical ability and appropriate licensure for driving
