University Academy Background
University Academy is a K-12 college-preparatory charter public school located in Kansas City, MO. The founders of the school believe deeply that students living in Kansas City, Missouri deserve the opportunity to have an excellent college preparatory education. The majority of University Academy’s students identify as Black, and many come from economically under-resourced communities in Kansas City. University Academy's mission is to prepare students to succeed in an institution of higher education and to be leaders in society. The vision of University Academy is to be the best college-preparatory charter public school in the country with an emphasis on college preparation, career development, community service and leadership. 

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Administrative & Program Associate provides critical day-to-day support for UA Foundation’s fundraising, operations, and programs that support UA students and alumni. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, collaborative, and excited to contribute to a mission-driven team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Administrative & Fundraising Support (70%)

  • Process, update, and manage donor and donation data in Bloomerang (CRM)

  • Interact with donor inquiries and generate thank you letters and cultivation communications 

  • Create mailing lists, generate reports, and update fundraising and organizational dashboards

  • Support logistics and materials for donor meetings, events, and school tours

  • Help plan and coordinate an annual calendar of cultivation and fundraising events 

  • Help manage social media content and email campaigns (Constant Contact)

  • Provide support for the annual Gala, including logistics, guestlist tracking, promotion, and volunteer coordination

  • Assist with scheduling and preparing materials for Board of Directors meetings

  • Support general data management across programs, fundraising, and operations to ensure records are accurate, organized, and up to date

    Program Support (30%)

  • Assist with logistics, planning, promotion, and communications for a variety of alumni and student events

  • Support with program-related mailings

  • Assist with maintaining accurate alumni program records

 

Qualifications:

  • 1–2 years of experience in an administrative or nonprofit support role

  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Professional, clear communicator with a customer-service mindset

  • Proficient in Excel; comfortable with Google Drive and CRMs (Bloomerang experience is a plus)

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines

  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to support across functions

  • Competitive salary based on experience, with an annual bonus of up to 10% of salary ($36,000 - $52,000)

Job Type: ¾ to full-time

Work Schedule: Monday - Thursday 9am - 5pm availability to work some evening and weekend hours.
