Culture Division Senior Administrative Assistant
Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) is seeking a proven leader who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high profile, and progressive environment to join its Gold Medal Team as JCPRD continues unprecedented growth through the development of new parks, trails, recreation facilities, programs and events.
The Senior Administrative Assistant serves as the highest-level administrative support position for the Culture (CUL) Division, specifically providing administrative support to the Superintendent of Culture and the departments that make up this division including: Fine and Performing Arts, Facility Rentals, the Johnson County Museum, and the Public Art Program. Under supervisory direction of the Superintendent of Culture, priority responsibilities will include complex administrative support related to development and maintenance of official documents and communications on behalf of JCPRD to persons inside and outside of the agency, conception and preparation of complex reports and documents, tracking of statistics and tracking of division operations activity, and assistance with Board and staff meetings, activities, communications, and recordkeeping. This role serves as a resource for the entire division related to policies, administrative processes, and overall support of the division operations including desk coverage at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center, customer service, and back up facility rental support.
Days/Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (some evenings and weekends required)
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field preferred. Minimum of five (5) years of administrative assistant or equivalent experience required.
Required Skills: Qualified applicant will have strong communication skills (verbal and written) and organizational skills are required, as well as the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Also required are exceptional customer service skills, self-motivation, and ability to maintain confidentiality. Basic mathematical and accounting skills, proficiency with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word. and an attention to detail are also required. Experience with coordination and planning of a variety of special events is preferred.
