Job Summary
As a VISTA  intermediary partner, the Library works with local organizations serving as AmeriCorps VISTA member host sites. This position will serve as project and grant coordinator for the Library VISTA Project working with subsite partners, VISTA Leaders, VISTA members, and CNCS. In addition to supervising VISTA(s) and/or VISTA Leader(s).
Basic Information

  • Reports to VISTA Project Specialist
  • 20 hours per week
  • $18.00/per hour
  • Position {is open until filled] [closes XXXXXXXXXXXX at 5 PM
  • This position is a grant funded position, renewable annually up to three years
What You’d Do
  • Provide support and training to VISTA members. Train new members on Library VISTA Project policies and procedures, including reporting. Coach and collaborate with the VISTA Leader(s). Supervises VISTA/VISTA Leader members.
  • Assist in VISTA member recruitment by designing promotional materials and conducting in-person and electronic outreach. Attends community events to promote the Library VISTA Project openings.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and onboarding of at least 10 VISTA summer associates. Work with VISTA Project Team to scale VISTA Summer Associate program to other library systems.
Requirements include:
  • Experience working with diverse communities.
  • Must be an organized systems thinker with strong project management skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated diplomacy with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong computer and technology skills especially Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Must be a self-starter able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • This position will have reoccurring access to vulnerable populations and will be required to pass a full NSCHC background check of NSOPW, state check (state of residence and service) and the FBI check.
  • Preferred qualifications include national service experience, knowledge of AmeriCorps VISTA Program provisions and regulations, and an excellent network of social service providers in Kansas City
  • Minimum requirements include a BA/BS degree or combination of education and experience.
               Schedule is flexible other than Mondays when VISTA members will be starting.
               Mon 9 am – 5 pm
               Tue 9 am – 3 pm    
               Wed 9 am – 3 pm
