LIHEAP Office Assistant

Summary: The LIHEAP Office Assistant assists with day-to-day office operations. Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) serves eligible residents with utility assistance through our office serving residents of Jackson, Clay, and Platte Counties.

Requirements: High school diploma/GED and 1 year of related experience. Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate and provide service to individuals from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Ability to handle stress and remain calm. Computer proficiency with Windows-based operating system.

Responsibilities: Listen to voicemails and return phone calls. Scan documents, label, and distribute appropriately. File completed applications and associated documents. Register applications. Work closely with front office staff and assist them with taking live calls and greeting applicants in the reception area as needed. Keep work areas stocked with supplies and place supply orders when needed.
