Arts and Education Manager

Position Summary: The Arts and Education Manager at Englewood Arts is self-motivated and innovative, leading the development and implementation of community arts education initiatives and overseeing the dynamic artist residency and studio artist programs. This full-time position reports to the Executive Director, collaborating closely with staff, teaching artists, resident artists, volunteers, and community partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Education Programming:
- Design, implement, and evaluate educational programs, workshops, and classes for all ages and skill levels.
- Cultivate partnerships with schools, local organizations, and cultural institutions to expand program outreach.
- Recruit, hire, and manage teaching artists and staff, interns, and volunteers for educational programs.
- Manage program enrollments, monitor participation, and ensure clear communication with students and families.
- Ensure instructor preparedness by coordinating schedules, providing curriculum support, and confirming access to necessary resources.
- Coordinate the setup of classes, including arranging spaces, preparing supplies, and ensuring all necessary materials and equipment are available.
- Manage education program logistics, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and evaluation.
- Ensure that all programs are inclusive, accessible, and aligned with the Englewood Arts’ mission.
- Assist in communications, marketing strategies, and promotional efforts for educational and engagement programs.
- Artist Services and Studio Facilitation:
- Oversee the Englewood Arts Residency Program, including artist recruitment, selection, onboarding; scheduling and tracking service hours and providing ongoing support.
- Manage artist studio rentals, including leasing, scheduling, and communication with tenants.
- Oversee artist onboarding processes and enforce studio policies to maintain a supportive, professional environment.
- Coordinate logistics related to artist housing, studio space, and community engagement activities for residency participants.
- Develop residency programming, including artist talks, exhibitions, studio visits and workshops tied to residency projects.
- Facilitate open studios and community engagement activities, fostering a sense of connection between artists and the public.
- Work with resident and studio artists to assess their needs and provide access to necessary supplies, materials, and resources.
- Ensure studio spaces are clean, functional, and welcoming for both artists and the community.
- Serve as the main point of contact for artists’ needs, studio maintenance, and operations, fostering clear and respectful communication.
- Management and Administration:
- Organize and coordinate meetings related to education, engagement, and residency activities.
- Prepare activity spaces, including seating arrangements and AV equipment setup.
- Develop and manage budgets for education, engagement, and artist and residency programs.
- Assist and complete grant applications and funding reports as needed.
- Monitor program expenses and revenue, and provide regular financial reports to the Executive Director.
- Conduct program evaluations and collect feedback from participants, partners, volunteers and artists.
- Organize and analyze feedback from attendees, volunteers, artists and partners.
- Prepare detailed reports on program successes and strategies for areas of growth.
- All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Arts Administration, Arts Education, Fine Arts, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience preferred in arts education, community engagement, or residency program management, preferably in a non-profit or arts environment.
- Strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Proficiency in Google Suite and relevant arts management software.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.
- Self-starter with the ability to initiate and complete projects independently.
- Passion for the arts and a strong commitment to the mission of Englewood Arts.
