Customer Service Representive/Office Assistant (Part-time)
The Friends of Chamber Music is looking for an experienced, part-time Customer Service Representative and Office Assistant. This individual is the first point of contact with concert attendees and donors, and so is a crucial member of a small but mighty team.
In addition to addressing questions and concerns with grace and patience, we want this individual to be passionate about relationship-building with strong customer service skills.
We expect someone who is not only comfortable with technology, but is passionate about always finding ways to utilize technology better. This candidate will learn Flipcause and quickly become the master. Familiarity with Wordpress is desired but not necessary as we are happy to teach it. We would expect the ideal candidate to be excited to learn.
We are lucky to have a core group of high-level donors and patrons who have been with us since the beginning, and these donors expect us to maintain accurate records. Therefore, the ideal candidate is an excellent listener who understands the importance of attention to detail. There is not always someone to check your work, so clarity in writing and self-editing are a must!
In addition to customer service, the candidate will also assist with office duties as assigned, so experience in an office setting is desired.
If you are still reading, we have one final item on our wish list that will either excite or terrify you: we work collaboratively but also autonomously. Our close-knit office understands that sometimes the executive director has to help with a mailing and the development director will help with ticketing, but everyone is passionate about being the master of his or her domain.
The ideal candidate checks in while also taking initiative and thinking ahead. If we assign three tasks, the ideal candidate is brainstorming another 3-4 they can complete once the core work is done, communicating to us what they intend to accomplish.
One final thing. We are a presenting organization, so there are a few evenings and weekends you’re expected to work. Since you are building relationships with our patrons, they will be disappointed if you are not there.
We are offering $20/hour for twenty hours/week from 11-3 M-F (some flexibility), plus the occasional evening and weekend hours for concerts as referenced above.
Please provide a cover letter detailing experience, and resume with three references to Mary Clare Wagner at email@example.com. Email only please.
