Foundation Director

We are a charitable organization whose mission is to “lift up and light up the lives of young people facing physical, emotional, and economic challenges by fostering inclusion and hope.” The Daniel Keating Foundation was founded in memory of Daniel Keating, who was known for his contagious smile and kindness, especially towards those struggling with inclusion.  Multiple grants are awarded bi-annually through an application process.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Attend board of directors and finance committee meetings and email ZOOM invitation
  • Coordinate monthly / quarterly financial reports with treasurer; submit necessary reports to accountant
  • Responsible for  development plan, identifying strategies for new and greater giving
  • Run monthly donation reports in DonorPerfect  and coordinate database updates with Keating and Associate staff member, who is currently managing database input
  • Send out letters of gratitude with tax receipt for all donations
  • Attend fundraising and special events
  • Coordinate calendar for fundraising and special events; distribute updates to board and volunteers
  • Prepare quarterly e-newsletter (i.e. Constant Contact / Mail Chimp) with upcoming events, spotlight on grant awardees, upcoming projects, how donors are making a difference, call-to-action (donate or volunteer)
  • Communicate directly with donors when appropriate, and share the vision of the board in day-to-day operations and relationships
  • Work with Manhattan and KC events committee members to promote upcoming events on social media and Constant Contact / Mail Chimp (or coordinate with marketing committee)
  • Work with grant committee to coordinate grand proposal process, initiate applicant screening, and selection process; print ceremonial check and arrange for photos of presentation
  • Manage grant reporting process
  • Coordinate annual direct mail and any online fundraising campaigns such as year-end
Executive Director Qualifications / Skills:
 
  • Previous experience with charitable  organizations
  • Leadership, management, and organization skills        
  • Communication skills
  • Takes initiative and works independently
 
Hours and Job Location:
  • Main organization located in Manhattan, but job will take place from individual’s home
  • One thousand or fewer hours yearly
