Coordinator of Development

Job Description
Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) is looking for a Coordinator of Development to join its talented professional staff team. Responsibilities include: securing event sponsors and exhibitors; securing paid display and classified advertisements in the monthly member magazine, the KC Counselor; managing the KCMBA members-only Career Center, which contains job postings for the local legal community; coordinating other services and benefits for KCMBA members; and maintaining contractual agreements with advertisers, income partners and event sponsors.  The Coordinator of Development will also support relationships and deliverables with KCMBA’s Affinity Partners, and sales of additional services, including the ADR Finder.

Applicants must have a positive, friendly demeanor and strong communication skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including grammar, are desired. Applicants should be professional, self-sufficient, extremely organized and find personal pleasure in improving the lives of coworkers, our members and the association as a whole. Must be great with details, have experience providing exceptional customer experiences and thrive in a fast paced environment. They should be adept at creating and sustaining relationships and masters at staying organized and multi-task with ease. Computer proficiency, past experience with project management, fundraising, sales or marketing experience is also desired.  A Bachelor’s Degree (preferably with an emphasis in Business, Marketing or Sales), or equivalent work experience, is desired.  A successful background criminal and credit check is a prerequisite.

The starting annual salary for this position is $30,000.
