Development Specialist

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Development Specialist position is responsible for the successfully implementation of individual annual support, targeted appeals, in-kind gifts and community engagement. This position will effectively steward individual donor relationships, including prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship for annual giving, e-solicitations, and affinity campaigns. They will lead and manage the planning process for annual giving and other donor communication materials. Successfully implement in-kind activities for Cornerstones of Care, including solicitation, donor stewardship, and daily organization and coordination of in-kind donation drives, delivery and distribution. They will actively seek out opportunities to engage the community in providing resources for Cornerstones of Care clients, and create a network of diverse, in-kind donors in every community where the impact of Cornerstones of Care programs are delivered in the greater KC-metro area and in key communities in St. Louis, Columbia, St. Joseph, Maryville and Wichita. Successfully implement community engagements for Cornerstones of Care, including recruitment, recognition, and management and coordination of volunteers and volunteer groups. Ensure volunteer and community engagement experiences reflect our commitment to Sanctuary and diversity by implementing Cornerstones of Care WIDE Initiative (Welcoming, Inclusive, Diverse, and Equitable) and help create a network of diverse volunteers and volunteer groups.
 
QUALIFICATIONS: This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years’ experience in writing and/or non-profit development. Must pass background check, physical and drug screening.  This position also requires a valid driver’s license and proof of current vehicle insurance.
