Boys Hope Girls Hope addresses the achievement and workforce development gaps by acting as a bridge to opportunity. Founded in 1977 in St. Louis, Missouri, Boys Hope Girls Hope has helped scholars succeed in school and in life for more than 40 years. We partner with families that face significant social and environmental barriers which impede a child’s ability to realize his or her potential.

Boys Hope Girls Hope creates a strong community around the young people we serve. That’s why it is vital that our Network have dynamic team members with the knowledge, skills, and character to advance the mission and role model what success looks like for our scholars.

As the Director of Development, the selected candidate will direct advancement efforts for the Kansas City affiliate. A strong focus on fund development outcomes through donor acquisition and stewardship, and strategic development planning (capital campaign, major gifts, and grant writing) is an essential function of this role. The Director will work closely with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to lead the organization in completion of its strategic goals for sustainability and expansion, growing its current budget and endowment. The Director serves as a strong partner with the Executive Director, to guide and support the Board leadership in its top two priorities: developing a case statement and strategy for diversity, equity, and inclusion; and to grow public awareness of the Kansas City affiliate. This position will be responsible for supervising a full-time VISTA volunteer who will assist the Director of Development with tasks such as management of CRM, donor acknowledgement, development reporting, special events and appeals, and grant seeking, reporting, and other support.
