A Director of Development is responsible for being a productive fundraising professional and excellent ambassador of the University of Central Missouri.

A Director of Development:
Develops long-term relationships for UCM with alumni and other individuals who have the financial capacity and desire to make major gifts, leadership annual gifts, and planned gifts.

Solicits and secures philanthropic contributions in support of UCM, including student scholarships, academic programs, library, intercollegiate athletics, the arts, buildings and facilities, endowed faculty chairs and professorships, etc.
Meets fundraising financial and productivity goals.

Travels at least 35% time, mostly in the Kansas City area, Warrensburg area, and other areas of Missouri where the majority of UCM’s 100,000 alumni reside. In addition, the Director of Development travels to other assigned U.S. states to meet with major donors and prospects.

Regularly contacts assigned donors and prospects.

Helps provide stewardship of assigned donors and their gifts.

Provides liaison to an assigned UCM college, program, special project campaign, etc. Shares information about the assigned unit/project with other development and alumni staff.

Updates the alumni and donor computer records system with contact reports, gift solicitations/proposals, and other information.
