Donor Services Associate

The Donor Services Associate provides high-quality customer service to Jewish Federation donors, manages donor accounts in the organization’s CRM system--including data entry and updates to donor profiles--and works closely with the accounting department to ensure accurate financial records are kept updated in donor accounts. This position provides administrative and event support to the financial resource development team, working under the supervision of the Director of Campaign & Corporate Sponsorship. This position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in the office when the office is open.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Incumbents may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties.
Data entry includes entering and adjusting annual campaign and special campaign pledges on a daily basis (with all pledges entered within 48 hours), assisting in making campaign ambassador/donor assignments, running existing reports, data entry and pledge cards, creating and coordinating acknowledgement letters for all contributions to Jewish Federation within a week of donation receipt, running quarterly statements for donors, and creating and sending tribute cards. In addition, the associate creates and manages spreadsheets as needed. These tasks involve working within the Blackbaud CRM system, updating constituent records and creating new records.

Administrative support includes preparing and organizing materials for campaign ambassadors and events, along with the coordination of fundraising-related bulk mailings to ensure they are sent out in a timely and cost-effective manner.

Event support includes assisting in the coordination of Financial Resource Development events & meetings, including but not limited to data entry for registration, and the setup and preparation of all necessary materials for daytime and evening events (attendance not necessarily required at all evening events).

Other administrative duties may include travel arrangements, transcribing of notes, etc., as assigned by supervisor.  
Required Skills, Abilities & Characteristics:

  • Strong customer service skills and experience required, including positive attitude and welcoming demeanor
  • Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Capacity to manage and organize information confidentially
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and meet all deadlines
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: MS Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Previous work in CRM database system and ability to quickly acquire an understanding of a customized Blackbaud database
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail, highly organized
  • Professional attitude and work habits
  • Excellent problem-solver
  • Desire to help support our community which includes serving those in need, education, youth and family services and senior adult services
Work Hours
This is a full-time, non-exempt position; business hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional event work during an evening or weekend will result in comp time during regular hours.
PTO including additional paid holidays, Medical, Dental, Life, Short-term Disability, Long-term Disability, 401(k) and Cafeteria program. 
Occasional opportunities for daytime travel within the Kansas City metro area to assist with events or attend trainings.
