Great Circle is currently seeking a Regional Director of Advancement to serve our Western Region and will be located in the Greater Kansasa City area.

About the Position
The Regional Director of Advancement is a professional member of the Great Circle Advancement Team.  The position plans and oversees all fundraising activities including, individual, corporate, foundation and organization giving.  The position directs fundraising initiatives to meet the annual and capital goals for the agency.  Identifies planned giving prospects and coordinates with the director of gift planning.  Position will develop strategic regional initiatives to secure gifts via personal solicitation, grants, direct mail, special events and other vehicles.  In cooperation with Communications Director, plans, implements and oversees media and community communications.  The position is supervised by the Sr. Director or Vice President of Advancement. Essential responsibilities include:
  • Develop and execute strategic fundraising initiatives to meet agency budget goals for private support*
  • Lead regional advancement efforts in coordination with trustees, volunteers, staff and community constituents *
  • Develop, execute and monitor development strategies to enhance cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of regional donors*
  • Identify and solicit major gift prospects; develop dynamic relationship strategies
  • Direct annual and long-term strategic planning process and prepare the budget for activities within the department*
  • Oversee regional development activities including special events, community relations, grants management, and other related areas. 
  • Responsible for all operations in the regional advancement department including recruitment, training and supervision of advancement personnel and volunteers 
  • Establish strong relationships with staff, board, community volunteers, media contacts, referral sources and government leaders to ensure strong regional advocacy and fundraising success
  • Adhere to the professional, fundraising ethics of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP)
  • Perform all other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Other responsibilities as needed for the betterment of Great Circle
To be considered for this position, you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree and five (5) years experience in non-profit development with track record of fundraising success required; CFRE certification preferred.
  • Supervision of professional development staff and agency volunteers
  • Demonstrated record of successful annual, capital, and endowment fundraising.
  • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with donors, staff, and volunteers.
  • An understanding of regional civic and business communities
  • Exceptional, verbal, analytical and written communication skills
  • Possess a current, valid driver's license and meet requirements for insurance
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office and related software packages; donor database experience
