Sr. Manager of Development
As part of the Executive Leadership Team of the museum, the Sr. Manager of Development plays a vital role in the development and implementation of the team’s strategic fundraising goals. Often described as a hidden gem in Kansas City, T/m is striving to reach new audiences to share the world’s largest collection of fine-scale miniatures and the largest collection of antique toys on public display in the Midwest. Reopening in 2015 after a successful $10M capital campaign and a stellar renovation, the museum is poised for a new and exciting phase of development. T/m’s mission is to educate, inspire, and delight adults and children through the museum’s collection and preservation of toys and miniatures. The museum serves over 30,000 visitors annually, operates in a 33,000 square feet museum and cares for over 78,000 objects.
The Sr. Manager of Development, in partnership with the Executive Director, will identify, cultivate, solicit, steward and increase investment relationships with individual donors, foundations and businesses throughout the Kansas City region and nationally. The Sr. Manager of Development will be responsible for developing relationships with individual donors, managing donor database, writing fundraising appeals, communicating with and steward donors and coordinating logistics for special events. The Sr. Manager of Development will also manage the grants submission process, develop and manage reports and provide leadership and support in external relations of the museum to deepen community and donor relationships.
The position reports directly to the Executive Director and offers an exceptional opportunity to work in a creative and fast paced environment, focusing on a design and implementation of a comprehensive annual fundraising program. Success in the position will be defined by the envisioning and implementation of a comprehensive strategy to research, identify and solicit sources of individual, institutional and corporate support through the development of giving circles, partnerships, and highly competitive proposals.
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
