Director of Alumni and Donor Relations
The Director of Alumni and Donor Relations plays a pivotal role in fostering and maintaining strong connections between the University and its alumni community to engage, cultivate, support, and advance relationships with alumni. The primary goal of the Director of Alumni and Donor Relations is to build a vibrant and active alumni network that supports the institution's mission, enhances its reputation, and contributes to its overall success.
Alumni Engagement Strategy
Develop and execute a comprehensive alumni engagement strategy that aligns with the institution's goals and values. This includes creating programs, events, and initiatives to effectively engage alumni, encourage their involvement, and strengthen their ties to the institution and managing all aspects of the database.

Continuing Education
Plan and execute the University's virtual and live continuing education curriculum. Serve as a champion to increase engagement with alumni and ensure that the University is a convenient source of continuing education courses for license renewal. Partner with University leaders and state agencies in the development of continuing education courses that align with the institutional standards and meet state licensing requirements.

Build and maintain relationships with alumni, both individually and collectively. Cultivate strong networks by understanding alumni interests, aspirations, and contributions, and provide opportunities for them to connect with each other and with current students. Partner with enrollment management staff to leverage alumni referrals of prospective students.

Event Planning and Execution
Plan, organize, and attend alumni and advancement events, such as reunions, networking receptions, scholarship programs, fundraising events, and continuing education seminars. These events foster a sense of belonging and encourage ongoing participation.

Develop and implement effective communication strategies to keep alumni informed about institutional updates, achievements, and opportunities. Utilize various channels, including social media, newsletters, emails, and websites, to maintain a consistent and engaging flow of information. Maintain confidentiality of all data including donor, alumni, and educational records. Responding to donor and alumni questions.

Collaborate with other departments within the institution, including development, admissions, marketing, and advancement, to ensure a cohesive approach to alumni engagement and to leverage alumni support for broader institutional goals.

Maintain advancement and alumni records and databases, tracking engagement activities, contact information, advancement data, and relevant notes to tailor communications and engagement efforts for alumni and donors. Process charitable contributions using best practice research to determine the appropriate data to track within the database and related coding to create more sustainable and accurate donor data. Generate and provide accurate lists to support University initiatives.

Work closely with the advancement team to identify and engage potential donors within the alumni community. Leverage alumni connections to support fundraising campaigns and initiatives. Assist with grants through research, drafting proposals and supporting documentation. Prospect research to identify new donors.

Establish metrics and benchmarks to assess the success of alumni engagement initiatives. Regularly analyze data to measure engagement levels, identify trends, and make data-driven improvements.

Develop and manage budgets for alumni and donor programs and services under the leadership of the Vice President of Advancement. Allocate resources efficiently to maximize the impact of student support initiatives.

Ensure a systematic method of completing assigned projects within agreed-upon time frames. Revise, update, and report project modifications to the appropriate stakeholders.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field or 3 years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, fundraising, or related roles.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency in using various forms of communication and engagement platforms.
- Creativity and innovation in designing engaging alumni programs.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., higher education administration, counseling, student affairs).
- 5 years of experience in alumni relations, event planning, fundraising, or related roles.
