PREP-KC was founded in 2006 as Kansas City’s leading urban education intermediary. Our mission is to increase college-readiness and access to high-quality employment for nearly 50,000 mostly low-income students served by six of Kansas City’s bi-state urban school districts and three charter schools.  The PREP-KC Program Assistant will be responsible for assisting with data entry and logistics for PREP-KC college & career exploration experiences (over 150 each school year).  In addition to assisting with the experiences, the Program Assistant will be responsible for representing PREP-KC by assisting where needed. Title: PREP-KC Program Assistant
Job Goal:
The primary goals of this position are: 1) Support PREP-KC’s data entry processes; 2) Represent PREP-KC; and 3) Assist with various administrative tasks across the organization.

  • Associates or bachelor’s degree

Responsible to: PREP-KC Executive Assistant/Office Manager
Performance Responsibilities:
Data Entry
  • Input all student and professional participants into PREP-KC’s customized database.
  • Assist with summer data entry of student records from Career Academy Summer Camps.
  • Assist with year-end data entry of student records from partner school districts.
  • Manage database & reporting.
PREP-KC Student Experience Support
  • Prepare and distribute materials.
  • Serve as PREP-KC’s representative at events to ensure everything runs smoothly, and problems are solved when issues arise.
  • Take photographs at events.
  • Collect and document student/professional feedback.
  • Update social media and website content (stories and photo gallery).
Administrative Tasks
  • Assist with answering phones, welcoming visitors, and staffing reception area periodically throughout the work week.
  • Assist with distribution of newsletters, e-blasts, annual updates, and other communication with PREP-KC stakeholders.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
Terms of Position: Part-time. This position will average 20 hours a week.  The program assistant will have a fixed schedule in the office for data entry and administrative tasks as well as some flexible hours each week based on the number of student events the assistant will need to support.
