ProX Outreach Coordinator
Reports to: Program Director
Salary: $40.00 per hour (anticipated maximum # of hours 1100 or less)
Terms of Employment: September 18, 2023 through April 20, 2024

GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to cultivate positive and productive relationships with youth, parents, community, and civic networks to drive recruitment for the ProX summer program. Using those relationships to ensure students are engaged and prepared to begin their internships and projects will support the program goal of completing 800 quality youth experiences.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Working within a team, actively promote the ProX program across schools and community networks to drive interest and applications to the program.

Provide support, mentoring, and coaching of all youth applying to ProX.

Deliver quality professional development workshops and support in preparation for the ProX hiring fair.

Work closely with community partners to plan and execute various outreach events/activities.

Develop student recruitment strategies and retention tools in partnership with ProX team members.

Support team and partner with businesses, entrepreneurs, community organizations to recruit and train students in preparation for the summer experiences.

Organize and schedule student application and training sessions at schools and community organizations.

Present ProX engagement opportunities at approved community events.

Be present and support student success at the Hiring Fair.

Provide guidance and support in matching students with summer experiences.

Develop student relationship best practices and assist with the development of the student training modules.

Collaborate with community partners and nonprofits to support workplace experiences.

Regularly monitor data and applicants to determine equitable representation and placements.

Partner with internal communications team to produce content that conveys the overall experiences to share with internal and external stakeholders.

Empower and encourage families to make use of identified resources to support student success.

Cross share and promote ProX on all networks and channels.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include compliance with state and federal laws; program policies and procedures; crisis management and disciplinary process and procedures.

Specific knowledge-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: operating standard office equipment including utilizing pertinent software applications; marketing and communications planning and managing projects and programs; preparing and maintaining accurate records; organization and planning; data analysis and report writing.

Specific ability-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; meeting deadlines and schedules; setting priorities; working with multiple projects, frequent interruptions, and changing work priorities; working with detailed information/dataand maintaining accurate records; maintaining confidentiality; and facilitating communication between persons with varied perspectives.

Ability to schedule several activities, meetings, and/or events; routinely gather, collate, and/or classify data; and use basic, job-related equipment.

Ability to travel in the Greater Kansas City area for outreach purposes.

Ability to lift 25lbs and transport promotional program materials to and from various sites.

Ability to collaborate with others in various circumstances.

Capacity for independent critical thinking to assess problems and formulate actionable strategies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
-
Education: Combination of some college and work experience (Bachelor’s degree preferred).

Equivalency: 5+ years of industry experience required.

Prior experience with youth and relationship management preferred.

Reliable transportation with valid vehicle insurance.
-
Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance.

Job Type: Full-time (Seasonal).

Monday to Friday (occasional evenings and weekends during intense program schedule).
WORKING CONDITIONS

Work environment is hybrid with significant in-person meetings and site visits.
