Position Overview:  Reporting to the Director of Programs & Experiences the Youth Enrichment & Fieldtrip Manager will manage the JA BizTown capstone experience with teachers, volunteers, and student.  Internally known as the JA BizTown Manager, this position will act as the main resource for daily operations, data management, and evaluation with all organizational stakeholders, including but not limited to educators, funders, and volunteers, while upholding the program quality and integrity. The JA BizTown Manager will directly contribute to increasing JA’s capacity to inspire and prepare youth to achieve their greatest potential and realize economic mobility.  

JA BizTown, Presented by CommunityAmerica Credit Union, is the signature program for Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City, housed in the new Youth Learning Lab serving upper elementary and middle school students from across the Kansas City region. JA BizTown, with inspiration from the former Exchange City, is an unmatched learning experience where students interact in a simulated economy and take on the role of employee, consumer and engaged citizen. Students discover the intricacies of a thriving professional and contributing member of a community, and the abundance of career and professional opportunities in their city. The journey begins in the classroom with four weeks of Junior Achievement intentional curriculum that culminates with a day at JA BizTown. Students put what they have learned in the classroom into action, through real world learning, practicing how to become a valuable member of the local workforce and community.


  • Assure program quality and integrity through effective communication with program stakeholders, exceptional customer service, sharing of program updates, and evaluation tools
  • Manage day-of simulation experiences in JA BizTown and support teachers with programming and curriculum delivery, leading up to the field trip capstone experience
  • Provide training and orientation for all program stakeholders participating in the experience
  • Actively recruit schools and volunteers to participate in the JA BizTown program
  • Develop and implement a customer-focused program delivery for all stakeholders to increase program retention and stakeholder satisfaction
  • Collect, report, and analyze data, testimonials, and program progress for use in critical JA proposals, reporting, JA stakeholder stewardship, and stakeholder recruitment
  • Work closely with Marketing & Development department to provide content, share program stakeholder stories, and/or to provide data required for program impact and outcome reporting
  • Manage JA BizTown inventory, materials, and supplies, including ordering and delivery in a timely manner
  • Assist with various administrative and operational tasks in support of the program
Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent professional experience
  • At least 3 years of experience in an educational (preferably K-12) setting
  • Excellent organizational, written, and verbal skills
  • Detail oriented and committed to meeting deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
  • Exceptional public speaking and presentation skills
  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and manage multiple deadlines
  • Ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift up to 30 lbs.
Compensation & Benefits:
The JA BizTown Manager position is an outstanding opportunity to join a growing, mission-driven organization. Additionally, Junior Achievement of Greater Kansas City offices are located in a newly remodeled, state of the art 22,000 square foot facility centrally located in the Kansas City metro, at 47th & Mission Road in Kansas City, KS. The new facility offers a fun, welcoming workplace culture with state of the technology and amenities. Salary considerations start at $44,950, with education and experience considered.
