About Kearney Enrichment Council: The Kearney Enrichment Council (KEC) is dedicated to fostering community engagement, cultural enrichment, and social development through diverse and impactful events and programs. We are now seeking a dynamic, innovative, and experienced Events Manager to join our team and lead the charge in delivering exceptional events that align with our mission.

Position Overview: As the Events Manager, you will be at the heart of KEC's efforts to engage and inspire our community through well-planned, executed, and evaluated events. You will oversee all aspects of event management, from conceptualization to execution, ensuring each event reflects the values and goals of KEC. This role requires a creative thinker with a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills, and a passion for community enrichment.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Event Planning and Coordination:
    • Develop, plan, and execute a diverse range of events, including cultural festivals, educational workshops, community gatherings, and fundraising events.
    • Create detailed event proposals and timelines, ensuring all logistical aspects are covered.
    • Coordinate with vendors, sponsors, volunteers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless event execution.
  2. Budget Management:
    • Prepare and manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
    • Monitor event expenditures and provide regular financial reports to senior management.
  3. Marketing and Promotion:
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling promotional materials and campaigns for events.
    • Utilize social media, traditional media, and community networks to maximize event visibility and attendance.
  4. Community Engagement:
    • Foster relationships with community members, local businesses, and organizations to build support and participation in KEC events.
    • Gather feedback from event attendees to continuously improve the quality and impact of KEC's programming.
  5. Team Leadership:
    • Lead and mentor a team of event coordinators, volunteers, and interns.
    • Provide clear direction, support, and feedback to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  6. Evaluation and Reporting:
    • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess success and areas for improvement.
    • Prepare detailed reports on event outcomes, including attendance, engagement levels, and financial performance.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning and management, preferably within a nonprofit or community organization.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing events.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by event schedules.
