SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position coordinates and conducts functions of the Grants Management Office including: working closely with multiple departments throughout the Academy to provide professional support with grant budget review/approval, preparation and submission of grant applications, preparation/negotiation of contracts/letters of agreement and post award activities (invoicing, financial reporting, progress reporting) for federal and foundation sponsored projects. Responsibilities include editing and review of grant application materials, post-award reports, and external communications required for funding of AAFP programs. This individual will research and identify funding sources/opportunities to support existing and planned AAFP programs/projects/activities.

Bachelor’s degree or through equivalent work experience (Master’s preferred) plus a minimum of four years related work experience. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be proficient in research, interpreting, and analyzing diverse data. Candidate must have proven experience in securing and maintaining federal grants/contracts. Proven track record submitting proposals/bids to PCORI and a variety of federal agencies including but not limited to NIH, AHRQ, CDC, HRSA, SAMHSA, and DOD. Familiarity with federal circulars, e.g., 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Guidance) and A133 (Single Audit) compliance. Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functional groups in a matrix-environment. Team player who can work well with internal and partner teams. Ability to communicate technical, budgetary, and program details w/both internal staff and external contacts. Ability to work well with others under multiple and competing deadline situations and respond to changing priorities. Knowledge of practice-based and clinical trials research. Knowledge of the medical practice, terminology, and education requirements for physicians, specifically CME for physicians. Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and databases, such as Workday, for monitoring and tracking deliverables. Ability to work independently, take initiative, set priorities, and see projects through to completion. CRA or CFRA certification preferred.
