Provider Practice Manager

To perform professional activities as manager supporting provider services for the health center with a particular focus
on Provider Scheduling, Workflow and Productivity maximization. Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and volunteers to further the mission of the health center to provide healthcare for the underserved
Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution- Healthcare related preferred
  • Experience in managing and analyzing complex scheduling and processes, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • High Degree of proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • Detail oriented and Professional Level organizational and analytic skills
  • Excellent communication skills with Healthcare Providers and Senior Leadership
Essential Functions:
  • Creating, maximizing and maintaining work schedules for healthcare providers of the health center’s locations.
  • Managing the On-Call and Back Up provider schedule
  • Function as an Electronic Health Record Super-User in order to assist with training and assure provider efficiency
  • Review and maximize provider productivity and work with the schedulers to fill patient slots
  • Coordinate and record minutes from provider and clinical operations meetings
  • Create and maintain a record of provider Continuing education
  • Assists CMO with ongoing Provider Peer Review process and Quality Management activities for our providers
  • Monitor provider adherence to documentation requirements and deadlines
  • Works with the clinical directors in planning and organizational activities as it relates to Providers
  • Assists in design, implementation and evaluation of clinical services.
  • Works with the team to improve clinic productivity and to enhance the cost-effectiveness of health services.
  • Attends clinical and organizational meetings as directed.
  • Maintaining close communication with medical leadership and directors


  • Communicates effectively, courteously and collaboratively with providers, managers, and co-workers with an ongoing focus on internal and external customer service.
  • Maintains a high degree of provider, administrative and patient confidentiality.
  • Collaboratively communicate with the Volunteer Manager in order to support the providers who volunteer at the Health Center.

  • Demonstrate an awareness of and commitment to the common goal of providing excellent patient care.
  • Participate in and support team meetings and activities.

  • Adhere to KC CARE Health Center attendance standards.
  • Exhibit a high degree of confidentiality of management, providers and patients.
  • Utilizes appropriate chain of command
  • Follows through on assignments to completion on deadline
  • Maintains a professional appearance and good hygiene
  • Takes responsibility for own actions.

Safety/Risk Management:

  • Adheres to health center safety, infection control and hazardous waste procedures.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

General Employee Responsibilities:

  • Participate in Quality Improvement processes and activities in the organization.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality at all times in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Provide orientation to new volunteers, students and employees.
  • May have other duties as assigned
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
  • Requires long periods of standing
  • Requires ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 10 pounds.
  • Requires ability to use routine office equipment such as computer, telephones, copy and fax machines.
  • Requires ability to comprehend both oral and written communications.
  • Requires sufficient near-vision to be able to read document and computer screen.
  • HIPAA Classification: Unrestricted Access: A workforce member with unrestricted access will have full access to patient’s protected health information, including the patient’s entire medical record, for patient care purposes.
