Lakemary is looking for a Director for our Human Resources Department. The Director of Human Resources manages and directs all human resources, safety, and risk management tasks of the organization. This role is that of a Generalist most of the time but will also require strategic planning abilities to meet business needs. This role functions under general supervision of the CEO.

Human Resources Director Duties:

  • Supervision:
    • Supervision of Human Resources Department, Safety, and Risk Management.
    • Provide direction, coaching, mentoring
    • Provide oversight of evaluation reviews for all employees (excludes Executives). The review and supervisory feedback must be consistent across the organization as it relates to the rating / scoring methods and practices
    • Support and direction must be consistent with Lakemary’s policies, procedures, and practices
    • Volunteer Program
    • Wellness Program
  • Employee Relations:
    • Addressing any employee relations issues
    • Provide employee relations support to employees/managers with regard to issues of legal compliance (i.e., hiring, terminations, discipline, etc.).
    • Confers with department managers concerning employee turnover, absenteeism, work demands, morale and motivation; recommends improvements or solutions to situations.
  • Responsibility:
    • Provides technical and clerical support for Recruitment activities:
    • Works closely with the hiring managers in recruitment process.
    • Serve as a consultant to supervisors, managers, and directors in regards providing employee relations support with regard to issues of legal compliance (i.e., hiring, terminations, discipline, etc.)
    • Continually educate employees on company policies (including sexual harassment, appropriate dress and social media permissions, etc.) and keep employee handbook current
    • Work with CEO on company polices (including sexual harassment, appropriate dress and social media permissions, etc.) and keep employee handbook current.
    • Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues.
An ideal candidate for this position has:
  • Utilization of time management skills.
  • Ability to interpret, apply and explain applicable rules and regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of Individuals served and staff.
  • Respond to requests and inquiries from others as appropriate.
  • Understand and follow instructions (active listening).
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Must possess basic use of the English language and basic math skills.
Human Resources Director Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in HRM or equivalent field is preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • SHRM- SCP or equivalent
  • SPHR or equivalent
Other Job Details:
  • Day hours 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday
  • Starting salary: $110,000 per annual

Lakemary provides training in program specific coursework.
