Marketing and Communications Intern

The Marketing & Communications Intern will assist and support JVS in the areas of digital marketing, external communications, and design. This position will have the opportunity to learn about the JVS’ mission and impact in Kansas City. 
RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Social media content curation and creation 
  • Maintain and report on marketing calendar and analytics 
  • Update and maintain JVS website
  • File management - Filing and organizing press releases, client stories and photo library
  • Writing, editing, reviewing, and tracking internal and external communications 
  • Media tracking - traditional and social media 
  • Other duties as needed 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES 
  • Highly developed oral and written skills 
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a timely manner 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 
  • Skills in using platforms like Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google, Adobe Suite, Canva, Constant Contact, and Wordpress
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills 
  • Must be self-sufficient, a self-starter, and ready to learn 
 ACADEMIC CREDIT 
  • The intern is eligible for academic credit, stipend and mileage reimbursement. Fulfillment of academic requirements will be the responsibility of the intern. JVS will provide the necessary internship description and performance review upon request. 
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires sitting for extended periods of time while on the computer and telephone.

Skills related to data analysis, research, communications, marketing, branding, and development 
  • LENGTH OF INTERNSHIP: 10 to 20 hours/week preferred, but willing to negotiate hours per week to accommodate school and/or work schedules.

Job Type: Part Time,Temporary

Salary Range: Up to $29,999
