Communications and Outreach Coordinator
Department: Marketing & Development
Reports to: VP of Development and Marketing
FLSA status: Exempt
Supervises: 0
Purpose: The Communications & Outreach Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating & developing content for Guadalupe Centers; under the direction of the Vice President of Development & Marketing, while also responsible for all community outreach and engagement. Help to elevate and mobilize GCI’s mission and vision.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Works with the Vice President of Development and Marketing and alongside the Marketing Specialist to achieve assignments, understand expectations, keep on task, participate in staff meetings, meet deadlines, and achieve annual goals.
- Responsible for coordinating content development and integration across multiple platforms and distribution channels
- Maintains social media calendar and works cross-functionally within the organization to assess and prioritize content needs and deadlines
- Establishes and maintains workflow for requesting, creating, editing, publishing, and retiring content.
- Leverages market data and industry trends to develop content themes/topics to continually increase audience engagement
- Shows a high level of understanding of social content as it pertains to reels, stories, blogs, etc.
- Involved in planning, preparation, and execution of all special events.
- Assists in protecting the integrity of The Guadalupe Centers brand and all uses.
- Represents Guadalupe Centers at public forums, hearings, and neighborhood associations/meetings, as necessary.
- Coordinates special initiatives as assigned such as neighborhood meetings, covid outreach, voter registration, census outreach, etc.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience and expertise in communications, social media, and content marketing are required.
- Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or a minimum of two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) oral and written required.
- Detail-oriented, self-starter, social media savvy, a creative thinker, a team player, and a strong communicator required.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and marketing software: Canva, Adobe, or similar.

The employee is required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. This job requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
