Director of Creative Projects

Primary Function:   
The Director of Creative Projects will own strategic work plans and coordinate the execution of marketing deliverables by collaborating with cross functional teams and subject matter experts, defining requirements, scopes, scheduling resources, and ensuring deliverables meet key milestones from kickoff through delivery and project close.  This is a supervisory position.
Primary Duties:
  • Manages and leads creative and editorial production projects.
  • Coordinates and provides leadership to cross-functional teams and external vendors to ensure foundation strategies are supported through integrated projects.
  • Develops schedules, key milestones, and action items to be socialized and used for internal teams and external agency partners.
  • Manages project status meetings, including tracking and reporting on action items.  Keeps the project plan up-to-date. Provides frequent project status reporting.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, in scope, and on budget.
  • Develops and manages marketing calendars, editorial calendars, and asset inventories.
  • Develops and manages processes; optimizing through continuous improvement.
  • Ensures all work product is consistent with brand voice, both in visual and editorial style to ensure consistent messaging across campaigns and the organization.
  • Reviews campaign performance; analyze for key insights to inform action.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices.
  • Supervises Marketing Specialist/Strategist(s).
Minimum Qualifications Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in the field of marketing, communications, or another business-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in traffic management or project management strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of project management experience in a production environment, including working with writers, editors, and/or graphic designers.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to work under and meet urgent and changing schedule deadlines with frequent interruptions.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with extreme attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate diplomatically with all levels of foundation staff and leadership.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage time effectively.
  • Previous experience resourcing and working with freelance talent and vendors.
  • Previous supervisory experience required.
  • Travel may be required.
