This position will be open until January 27, 2020.
 
Position Overview:
The Marketing Content Coordinator provides excellent customer service by developing content for use online and in email marketing. The person in this position will coordinate the development and deployment of digital communication to customers through multiple channels.
 
Salary/Wage:
  •  $42,663 per year plus benefits
  • This is a full-time, overtime exempt position
Schedule:
  • The position will be scheduled for primarily Monday-Friday 8 am - 5 pm. 
  • All scheduling is based on the needs of the department and is subject to change.
 
Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager

  • Establishes and maintains supportive working relationships with co-workers and other departments/branches
  • Models excellent customer service, attitude, and delivery, supporting a collaborative and inclusive workplace
Essential Job Functions:
  • Works in conjunction with the Manager and others in the department to develop a content strategy for email communication with multiple customer segments
  • Develops an email content marketing calendar to ensure regular communication to multiple customer segments
  • Works with subject experts within the organization to identify relevant content to be included in email campaigns
  • Works with content experts for key organizational initiatives to create enewsletters targeted to their customers
  • Writes original content for inclusion in email communication vehicles
  • Aggregates all content, solicits approvals, and deploys email messaging to customer groups
  • Supports proofreading of materials produced by the department
  • Responsible for keeping special customer email address lists updated in Savannah
  • Serves as a regular blog contributor
  • Provides monthly statistics and analysis to measure the impact of email campaigns
  • Creates original content and repurposes content for marketing-related print and digital materials, and web-pages tied to annual and one-time campaigns others
  • Coordinates with outside agency to develop and track promotional campaigns tied to Google Ad grants to drive traffic to MCPL catalog and electronic resources
  • Coordinates with Electronic Resources to develop landing page content for Google Ad grant program
  • Assists with cataloguing and tagging MCPL photos in a central archive
Required Skills:
  • Proficiency in email list management preferred
  • Proficiency in marketing/email automation technology in a professional setting preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
  • Excellent writing and proofreading skills
  • Proven copywriting experience
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Strong project management skills
  • Models excellent customer service attitude and delivery
  • Uses effective verbal, written, and discreet communication with management, coworkers, and the public
  • Exhibits self-motivation with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage changing priorities
  • Demonstratives excellent organizational and planning skills with ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently as directed by managers and supervisors
  • Learns the functions and organization of the Library
  • Understands and follows oral and written instructions
  • Must be able to work with frequent interruptions, able to prioritize and meet deadlines with guidance and oversight of the department manager and assistant manager
  • Able to exercise strict confidentiality related to administrative matters
  • Able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others
Preferred Skills:
  • Proven work experience as an email or digital marketing specialist and/or content creator 
  • Experience in other Adobe Creative Suite programs 
Experience and Training:
  • Associate’s Degree with coursework in Marketing, Communications, or related subjects required. Bachelor degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in marketing/email automation technology
  • Demonstrated Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint required
  • Experience in a professional office environment preferred

  • Sufficient vision which permits the incumbent to produce and review a wide variety of library materials, written correspondence, reports, and related materials in both electronic and hard copy form
  • Sufficient manual dexterity which permits the incumbent to operate a keyboard to prepare written correspondence, reports, and related materials
  • Sufficient personal mobility which permits the incumbent to access required materials, and to attend library district meetings at various locations
