Director of Membership Services

SUMMARY
DeMolay is seeking a qualified individual to serve as the Director of Membership Services. This position is a vital component in planning and developing strategies to support the membership experience within DeMolay globally.
 
Additionally, this position will oversee the implementation and execution of an upcoming global membership recruitment marketing campaign.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, EXPECTATIONS, AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Consult with volunteer leaders to understand their needs and help them grow DeMolay at the local and state/national levels;
 
Support volunteers in the creation and evaluation of recruitment materials that aid in the recruitment of new members and new volunteers;
 
Assist volunteer leaders in developing and delivering in-person and online education with clearly articulated goals, objectives, and protocols that define and measure success;
 
Aid volunteer leaders in recruitment and retention strategies that will assist in growth in both membership and stature;
 
Lead the deployment of a global new member recruitment program, including tracking leads and following up with DeMolay leaders and candidates. Provide coaching to volunteers as necessary;
 
Analyze information to assess needs and project trends in membership, highlighting opportunities for proactive training and coaching at the local and state/national levels;
 
Create and maintain a master calendar of International and Jurisdictional events;
 
Support the work of assigned adult and youth committees, providing guidance to ensure all are working toward the same goals;
 
Serve as primary contact for members and vendors regarding DeMolay merchandise, awards, regalia, and use of trademarks;
 
Curate and send a weekly electronic newsletter to membership with input from volunteer leaders;
 
Assist Executive Director on special projects as assigned and lead key department initiatives with cross-functional teams or other membership staff as needed;
 
 IDEAL CANDIDATE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university and two to five years of experience non-profit work or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in the DeMolay program or another fraternity or sorority is preferred. Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking Spanish is a plus.
 
COMPENSATION, HOURS, & PTO
Starting salary for this position is highly competitive. Additionally, the position also has a benefits package that includes health, vision, dental, disability, sick leave,401k or student loan assistance, and a monthly cell phone & mobile data stipend.
 
This position is based in Kansas City, Missouri at the DeMolay International Service & Leadership Center. Hours of operation are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-5:00 PM EST and night/weekend travel as deemed necessary.
 
DeMolay International grants 11 paid holidays a year additionally, this position will receive three (3) weeks of personnel time off (PTO) for vacation after 90 days of service.
 
COMPETENCIES
Must be a solution-driven, out-of-the-box thinker who works well in a team environment and also be flexible and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
 
Experience in writing marketing copy for targeted email sends, website pages, and social media posts. Creativity and strong communication skills are necessary;
 
Detail-oriented individual with good problem-solving skills. Able to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
 
Self-sufficient computer capability using Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and bulk email services is a plus.
 
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk and sit. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
