Kidz Connect Coordinator

The Kidz Connect Coordinator serves as the primary visionary for the Kidz Connect ministry. The Kidz Connect Coordinator is the principal organizer, administrator, and manager of the Kidz Connect Ministry. The Coordinator will work with the Director of Authentic Faith Development to establish a calendar and agenda for the ministry at least one year prior to the Fiscal Year.
  • Organize events for children and families
  • Attend 1-2 professional development opportunities per year
  • Know the names of parents and their children
  • Communicate on a weekly basis with the Director of Authentic Faith Development, children, and their families regarding events, activities, and projects using a church management database via text, e-mail, or newsletter
  • Help the Director of Authentic Faith Development identify the necessary curriculum
  • Submit, budgets, calendars, reimbursements in a timely manner and in accordance with Church policies.
  • Coordinate and train Kidz Connect volunteers
  • Attend Faith Development Departmental meetings.
  • Supervise Kidz Connect Volunteers.
The Kidz Connect Coordinator will be attentive to the hopes, concerns, and needs of children in the congregation and in the community to determine how the congregation might serve children and their families and how the children might serve one another as Christian disciples.
The Kidz Connect Coordinator benefits from one or more of these spiritual gifts: servanthood, teaching, exhortation (encouragement), leadership, administration, helping, and shepherding. This Coordinator should show evidence of passion for children’s ministry, prior effective ministry leadership, and evidence of active and growing discipleship. The Coordinator will demonstrate a basic knowledge of child development with appropriate attention to challenges and safety.
Useful skills for this position are the ability to listen to and communicate with people of all ages, the ability to work with other adults, children’s ministry leaders, and children. This person needs to be able to delegate responsibility and follow up on getting the job done.  
This leader should show genuine interest in responding to the needs and concerns of children in the congregation and the community.
Qualifications include:
  1. Commitment to the Christian faith and teachings
  2. Safe Sanctuary Training

Working Conditions 
The position is part-time. The position does require the Coordinator to be able to work evenings and weekends, outdoors, with challenging clients, at the church and in the community.
