Job Title:
Site Coordinator                                                                       Status:     Seasonal


Rainbow Summer Program is a 6-week summer educational enrichment program for approximately 100 children who have completed grades K - 8.  Curriculum emphases include reading, financial literacy, wellness literacy (gardening, nutrition and physical fitness), social action/community service, and parental involvement.


  • Manage the day-to-day activities of the site and ensure classroom facilitators have necessary materials and supplies for the classroom and children.
  • Provide guidance, support, encouragement and constructive feedback to classroom facilitators.

  • Maintain team spirit among site staff and conduct debrief sessions at the end of each day. During the debrief sessions, provide technical assistance and feedback to the classroom facilitators on all aspects of their work.

  • Assist as needed with parent workshops

  • Enter data.

  • Work with Program Coordinator to keep the lines of communication open between parents and staff.

  • Attend the local training and help lead parts of that training.

  • Communicate directly with Program Coordinator.

Education & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred but will accept three years of experience with Rainbow Summer Program as an Intern or nonprofit community based organizational experience. Supervisory or management experience preferred.


  • Experience managing large groups of children, college-age young people and parents.
  • Solid commitment to children’s advocacy and enthusiasm for education.

  • Motivated self-starter who looks for ways to contribute to the organization’s mission and is happy to assist with whatever needs to be done.

  • Hard working, flexible and responsible.

  • Possess excellent communication skills, oral, written and listening.

  • Able to work independently and in a team as the situation requires

  • Strong problem-solving skills; ability to think critically and analytically

  • Effective team building, negotiations, mediation and conflict resolution skills.

  • Must pass background check.

  • Good computer literacy skills

  • Fluency in Spanish preferred
