Production Manager

KCPT is seeking a Production Manager, who will be responsible for performing various administrative functions for KCPT, Flatland This position will project manage multiple projects across departments, and will need strong organizational and prioritization skill as well as provide comprehensive, confidential support and assistance to the Chief Operating Officer. This role involves both creative and practical work.
Job functions include:
  • Serve as project manager for key initiatives identified by the editorial team.
  • Manage content-related assets for publishing online and airing on television.
  • Assign crew to projects.
  • Act as main contact for freelance team in regards to contracts, tentpole projects and grants.
  • Expertise in managing projects using web technologies.
  • Oversee grant requirements and ensure all deliverables are met.
  • Ability to work flexibly and across organizational boundaries.
  • Work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Work across departments to maintain open lines of communication.
  • Create and update contracts for freelance contractors and partners.
  • Write copy for digital properties.
  • Maintain continuous lines of communication and keep the COO fully informed of all critical issues.
  • Ensure the COO has all information and resources required for maximum efficiency, including the maintenance of calendars, daily scheduling and web based organizational applications.
  • Assist the COO in organizing the budget process and track expenses across relevant departments.
  • Assist COO to monitor financial aspects of content and freelance producer agreements.
  • Assist with implementation of training programs and retreats.
  • Assist in award submissions.
  • Provide switchboard relief as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualified applicants will have passion for the KCPT mission and organizational values, an undergraduate degree and a minimum three years’ experience in media/production, marketing, or business related field.  Analytical, problem solving, organizational, project management skills and a strong decision-making ability are a must.  Working knowledge of Word Press, Trello or related project management tools is required. A working knowledge of Google Analytics or other analytics tools for reporting purposes would be preferred.  Candidates must have strong decision-making ability, excellent verbal and written communication skills, possess strong computer and internet skills with a working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases including Excel and web based data research and tracking.
