30 hour Salaried Exempt position, Salary Range: $26,520 - $29,640
Job Title:  Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministries August 2019
Status: Salaried (30 hours)
Ministerial Exemption
The Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministries will support the spiritual and pastoral mission of the church by guiding and leading the congregation in connecting younger congregants (birth-college) and their families to worship, serve, and learn opportunities at Rainbow and beyond.
Primary Responsibilities  
  • Guide and help lead Faith Formation Board
  • Collaborate with Faith Formation Board in leading children and youth-related activities and events, service projects, Mennonite conference participation and fundraising
  • Guide and support the Faith Formation Board in planning and implementing a balanced, Christian education program consistent with Mennonite/Anabaptist values
  • Manage spending/budget as it relates to work with children and youth in collaboration with Faith Formation Board
  • Assist to recruit youth group sponsors with the Faith Formation Board and provide resources for sponsors
  • Facilitate and sustain relationships with children and youth and their families, as well as college-age congregants
  • Primary administrator of congregational Abuse Prevention Policy
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Provide necessary reports on monthly/annual basis
  • Participate in and attend weekly staff meetings
  • Ensure youth, teachers, and sponsors maintain cleanliness of youth rooms and kitchenette area
  • Maintain professional relations while serving as staff liaison to church committees
  • RMC looks with favor upon and expects this position would represent RMC through participation in conference and/or Mennonite activities as part of our church’s sharing in the larger Christian community
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and as part of the RMC team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to recruit, manage, and work with church volunteers
  • Microsoft office computer skills
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of:
  • The role of the position in relationship to the RMC congregation and its vision
  • Mennonite/Anabaptist history, theology and the Bible
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree is required  in a subject matter or field related to the primary responsibilities; additionally, relevant work experience is preferred.

The Director of Faith Formation and Youth Ministries reports to the Pastor and works closely as staff liaison to the Faith Formation Board.
