10 hour Salaried Non-Exempt position, Salary Range: $7,800 - $8,840
Job Title:  Outreach Ministries Coordinator August 2019
Status:     Hourly/10 hours a week
Summary The Outreach Ministries Coordinator will guide and equip the congregation in maintaining connections between Rainbow Mennonite and the surrounding Rosedale neighborhood through community outreach opportunities. 

Primary Responsibilities
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Together with Pastor, maintain communication with area and conference organizations in order to discover, coordinate, and equip the congregation for outreach opportunities suitable for Rainbow, including but not limited to Rosedale Development Association (RDA), Sharing Community in Rosedale (SCR), Mennonite Voluntary Service (MVS)
  • Staff liaison to Outreach Committee, Peace and Social Justice Network, MVS Support Board, Whitmore Playground
  • Work with Outreach Committee to coordinate, organize, and oversee volunteer activities for visiting summer groups such as visiting youth groups
  • Work with Outreach Committee and volunteers to coordinate, organize, oversee outreach-related events
  • Provide necessary reports on monthly/annual basis
  • Participate in and attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Maintain professional relations while serving as staff liaison to church committees and community organizations.
  • Excellent organization, written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently, both independently and as part of the RMC team.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Ability to recruit and work with church volunteers
  • Microsoft office computer skills.
Must demonstrate a working knowledge of:
  • The role of the position in relationship to the RMC congregation and its vision
Preferred Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of four years related work experience.

The Outreach Ministries Coordinator reports to the pastor and works closely as staff liaison to committees and community organizations mentioned above.
