ACE Program Manager

The Adult Continuing Education (ACE) program manager will have direct responsibility for launching and managing the ACE Program, overseeing ACE staff, ensuring positive outcomes for participants and supporting the growth of our organization. Ongoing support will be provided by the entire Down Syndrome Guild (DSG) Team, including an occupational therapist, speech language-pathologist, and Board Certified Behavior Analyst.

 
At DSG, we believe that all people have the right to live, love, work, play, and pursue their life aspirations in their community. Our vision is a community where individuals with Down syndrome are included and achieving their highest potential. ACE will be offered Monday-Friday, 9 AM to 3:30 PM at the DSG office and is anticipated to launch Fall 2019. ACE is designed to equip adults with Down syndrome to live a meaningful adult life by maximizing their independence and participation, in a safe and supportive environment. Skill development will revolve around DSG Program Pillars which include Daily Living, Social & Communication Skills, Community Engagement, Health, Wellness & Safety, Self-Advocacy, and Vocational Development.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership and Daily Operations
  • Serve as primary contact for ACE participants and their caregivers
  • Manage all aspects of ACE operations, including initial launch of program in Fall 2019.
  • Facilitate intake and assessment process.
  • Commitment to innovation and growth of program.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to enhance the program.
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Service Plans for all participants.
  • Prepare and submit management reports to Chief Operating Officer monthly.
  • Develop meaningful schedule of activities for participants that promotes skill development across DSG Program Pillars.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and retain ACE program staff.
  • Execute staff scheduling tasks including ratios, timesheets, PTO.
  • Provide performance evaluations for ACE staff.
  • Develop ACE guidelines and policies, and update ACE Participant Handbook as needed.
  • Create and implement measures to evaluate program outcomes.
  • Oversee data collection of participants’ performance to monitor progress towards individual goals. 
Administration
  • Assist in the development and administration of the annual budget.
  • Prepare and submit monthly billing information to development team.
  • Complete documentation for ACE participants, including assessments, Individualized Service Plan, and quarterly reports.
Building Relationships and Advocacy
  • Promote ACE program and partner with community stakeholders, including employment opportunities. 
  • Consult with participants, families, guardians and DSG with the goal of improving adult services and outcomes.
  • Facilitate Individualized Service Plan meetings of each participant.
  • Consult with DSG staff regularly to promote positive participant outcomes.
Safety
  • Ensure participant safety and dignity at all times.
  • Develop and conduct routine safety drills and emergency planning.
  • Compliance with confidentially regulations (e.g., HIPPA), including documentation and files.

Secondary Expectations

  • Promote community awareness and involvement.
  • Attend all meetings and agency functions as required.
  • Report to Chief Operating Officer (COO) and perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Passion aligns with organization mission, vision, and belief.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in special education, psychology, sociology, social work or related field.
  • A minimum of three years of leadership and/or supervisory experience in a program setting.
  • Experience working with individuals with Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities.
  • Have a valid driver’s licenses and clean driving record.
  • Must pass background check.
  • CPR and First Aid certified (preferable; DSG can provide if hired).  
  • Non-Violent Physical Crisis Intervention certification (preferable; DSG can provide if hired).

  • $44,000-$48,000 salary range.
